Refund policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2022
At Fremont Photo Co, we strive to provide high-quality products and professional film processing services. Due to the nature of analog photography products and lab services, most purchases are considered final sale.
Please review the refund policy below.
Final Sale Items
The following items are final sale and not eligible for refunds:
• Film development and scanning services once processing has begun
• Digital scans once they have been delivered
• Opened or used film rolls
• Used disposable cameras
• Art books and printed materials
• Merchandise purchased through vending machines or pop-up events
Because film processing is a chemical service that begins immediately upon intake, refunds cannot be issued once development has started.
Damaged or Defective Products
If a product arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
To review your request, please provide:
• Proof of purchase
• Photos of the item and packaging
• Description of the issue
If approved, Fremont Photo Co may offer one of the following:
• Replacement of the item (if available)
• Store credit for future purchases
• Partial or full refund (case-by-case)
Items reported after 7 days may not be eligible for replacement or refund.
Film Development Disclaimer
Film photography involves chemical processes, mechanical cameras, and physical materials that may affect photographic results.
Fremont Photo Co is not responsible for unsatisfactory results caused by factors outside the lab’s control, including but not limited to:
• expired film
• improperly stored film
• camera malfunction
• improper exposure
• light leaks
• film that was previously exposed or damaged
Submitting film for development acknowledges these risks.
If a roll of film returns blank or partially blank, this typically indicates that images were not successfully captured on the film prior to development. Blank film does not indicate a processing failure.
Refunds will not be issued for blank rolls unless a verified lab processing error occurred.
Lab Equipment & Mechanical Processing Disclaimer
Film processing uses professional laboratory equipment that requires regular maintenance and calibration.
Although every effort is made to maintain equipment to professional standards, mechanical or technical issues may occasionally occur.
In rare circumstances this may result in film damage including:
• scratches or marks
• chemical streaking
• uneven development
• film transport damage
In the event of verified lab equipment failure resulting in film damage, Fremont Photo Co’s maximum liability is limited to the cost of the film roll and/or the processing service purchased.
Fremont Photo Co shall not be responsible for:
• lost images
• emotional or sentimental value
• missed events or irreplaceable moments
• consequential damages.
Vending Machine Purchases
All vending machine sales are final.
If a vending machine malfunction occurs (for example, a jammed product or failed dispense), customers must contact Fremont Photo Co within 48 hours of purchase and provide:
• date and time of purchase
• location of the machine
• item purchased
• description of the issue
If verified, Fremont Photo Co may offer a replacement item or store credit.
Refund Method
Approved refunds may be issued in one of the following forms:
• Store credit
• Replacement product
• Refund to the original payment method
The refund method will be determined at the discretion of Fremont Photo Co.
